new lay-outs...finally!!

...I am so inspired lately, I want to scrapbook more than ever, and still, not so long before that, I felt stuck, and didn't know how I would approach my lay-outs in-the-making, since I felt I was doing the same over and over. white cardstock. 6x12. some paint. some fun stuff. one photo. done.
I felt I really had to try to widen my horizon again, and be fresh and new to scrapbooking. so, I went through my stuff, and realised I didn't have to limit myself so much, it's ok to use the old tags I thought was boring before, it's ok not to journal all the time, it's ok to do 12x12 again. so I am. I'm exploring new stuff. I'm even tearing the edges of my lay-out, and using looooots of thickers ha ha I've been saying for months that I want to draw the titles myself, and I do, but sometimes it's ok not to do it... when I look at some of the lay-outs, it feels funny, since they're a little different from the rest of my work. I hope they still have the tove-twist to them...

here's sassafras, some tickets, beads, lace, and a metal sticker that doesn't show at all, dang, and really: I used a flower!!
no kidding, I used a flower again! I'm challenging myself to use them, I mean, I did buy them, ages ago! (here I added some tulle!) paper is american crafts, tag is bam pop, rest is a little bit of this and that. the photo is a self portrait, I tried to look real glam lol

my lovely little bunny**** had to split two 8's to make the s, I was out of them! love this Love Elsie cardstock, the frame is hambly, and the brad is mm. (look bendichte, I distressed the edges rofl:D)

this paper is to die for, it's hambly, along with the rub on. flower is american craft, other papers are sassafras and scenic route. I tried to make it simple, yet cool, the photo is of my boyfriend, climbing a tree in Ukraine, last summer. hard to spot, but he's up there*

Hambly background, thickers, and a rose from an old embroidery pattern. I love vintage stuff, and I love taking these kind of photos. the little deer is from a package of biscuits! (we used to get them when we were kids!)
today, I've been scrapbooking even a little more, I've been outside all day with my friends, relaxing in my garden, I'm so happy to have a garden that I can't explain it. and it's sunny there all day around, until late evening!
I've been wearing my cowboy hat and walked around bare footed. now my stocmach is really full, and my head is tired. my boyfriend has fallen asleep beside me, he's so so so sweet and beautiful!!
will share photos from the garden-day soon!
I'm totally happy now, hope you are too! (and I really appreciate to hear what you think of the lay-outs....now that I'm exploring a little...)
xoxo see you soon!

just a short one...

this is the cover of my mini-album for scrapbookexpress grand prix final. I was fourth, and is very happy with that, just getting through to the final was like a victory to me:)
I'm scrapbooking like crazy these days, and really want to share, but haven't uploaded any photos yet! will do soon, I promise***
what are you up to, what is your passion now?? see you soon xoxo

look here!

I'm published!! I love magazines, but I feel most of them are very traditional, and features very similar lay-outs, without much personality. that goes especially for the american ones, but
entre artistes magazine is different and really cool. it's in french, and though I don't read french, I've started subscribing, since I really need to lay down on the sofa, looking at something that inspires me, not just browsing in front of the lap-top. as I said...I luuuurve magazines!
in the latest issue, is my lay-out, it was made for a challenge, "rainbow"

I made the background paper myself, with paint, and added different stuff....the sticker is from a cassette, and the alphas is american crafts.
I'm actually scrapbooking right now, just took a short break to blog a little! have a great evening, and weekend**

favourite books from my childhood*

watch, there's a ToveTyll challenge at Scrappehuset!

the sweet girls at scrappehuset asked me to be their ALT OM-girl this month! (alt om- that's everything about...) there's a great article about freestyle there, and some really cool lay-outs! I also made a challenge, where you can win my papers, so go for it! (it's only in Norwegian though, sorry!)

I've had a really crazy weekend, will post more later, I'm just a bit tired now, puh...my place is a mess, and I'm starving now.... see you soon xoxo

short little post

I'm still behind on posting my lay-outs, here's one from our crop. it's about swedish cinema Draken (the dragon), who is now closed. the sign, the green dragon, is famous all over Sweden, and is still glowing... I handcut the title from woodgrain foil and drew a tree on the orange paint. the dragon card is bought on Etsy.
today, I had a photoshoot with my friend, I have to make a mini album for the final in the grand prix contest, the photos were really cool and beautiful, I can't share most of them yet, as I want them to be secret for the competition, but you can see one to the left here. I do love my garden, it's great for photographing!!
we might be going out on the cottage tomorrow...but not sure, will know tonight...
have a great evening, hope you have strawberries, like I do** xoxo

flea market love**

look what I found! I went flea market shopping saturday (and sunday lol), and I caught lovely things to keep for myself, and some stuff that is up in my vintage dep at etsy soon. (i.e. the rollerskates, they don't fit my big feet, but I had to get them, still...)

lovely vintage photo albums, look at the gorgeous structure on the cover! I'll start printing square photos, to fit them in the sleeves lol

these 80ies glasses were just too cool to be left behind!
...and the shoes...have you seen such beautiful shoes...they will also be up in my etsy.

some new scarfs! I really had a great weekend, our crop and barbecue yesterday was awsome, I didn't get to scrapbook that much really, but we had a swell time, and made some exciting plans lol
how was your weekend?
xoxo

sun & thunder all at once!!

crazy weather today, changing all the time!! at my boyfriends place, electricity just dissapeared the other day, it appeared to be a broken cable, and it might take two weeks until it's fixed, they have to dig, and well, things don't happen fast:p anyway, now we have a temporary cable laying through his house, and out the back door, crawling over the lawn, and dissapearing into his mothers house...so...we cannot close the back door, and it's sooooo cold!! I'm glad I'm back home now!
***rain or not, here's some of the things I've been making lately, the fruits etc are felt brouches, will be up in my etsy soon. I also have new lay-outs:

this one is about me being in love with the 80ies, my decade. I used lots of bam pop paper and clips from magazines, film strips, and the sticker from an old cassette. (I drew the new cassette around it...) the photo is of my favourite pez-figures**

here's an old car I passed, walking to the bus the other day... I used scenic route and october afternoon papers, a band aid, some christmas mushrooms and pink thickers. I really wish I drove an old car....now, I don't drive at all!

last lay-out, photos from ukraine, a blue apple from my papers, and some love elsie clouds. I love the photos, so I didn't want to over-work them! rub on birds are jenni bowlin, chipboard mushroom are sassafras.
I also have some new drawings, this on is called corncarrot. I thought of digitally colouring the background, but my computer keeps dying when I try to innstall the new illustrator...my friend says it's a hard disk problem, and nothing to do...maybe I need a whole new computer???

then last, let's twist again with turkey mama lol do you think she knows how to dance???
xox see you soon!!

my sunscreen came out today!!

what a lovely morning, me and my boyfriend sat on my front stair, he playing guitar, me making fruit brouches (is that the spelling???) for my etsy. photo tomorrow, as they're not completely finished. I'll also be selling my stuff at the market at BLÅ, Oslo, on Sunday 24th of may. come come, it'll be fun!!

it was really hot in the sun, later I made a strawberry smoothie, and it was just so lovely** it seems there's hope for good weather on sunday, we're having a crop at my boyfriends place. ain't he the sweetest, he welcomes me and all my friends to come scrapbooking! he thinks it's fun, he's not scrapbooking, but he makes ATC's if I tell him to:):)

our crop is also a welcome party for our sweet friend Hanne, who's moving to Oslo!! I'm so happy you will live closer to us, we'll have so much fun!! we'll have a barbecue, and lots of cookies, and relax in the garden when we're not scrapbooking... I pray for sunny weather!!

I also have two new paintings, I'm into a naiv style with subtile messages ha ha they prints will be up in my etsy soon, I'm not selling the originals just yet.
last, but not least, my banana lay-out! I'm so in love with it, it was for the 7th and last challenge at the grand prix. "make a monochrome lay-out!" thanks again everybody who voted for me, this lay-out got me to the final, top 8 went through, and I'm so happy. originally there were 60 participants, so I was jumping up and down yesterday. description is in my gallery at scrapbook express:)

lovely spring to you all, hugs Tove xoxo

I'm so in love with my sweet boyfriend*

spring comes with new ideas

Datoer for kurs er: onsdag 20/5, onsdag 27/5, onsdag 3/6, mandag 8/6 kl.18.00
Sted: Grorudveien 115 Oslo

I appologize to all my english-speaking readers, this was about some classes I'm teaching in Norway, so you missed nothing:):)

here's some lay-outs from our crop:

I love them both, the first one is made with hambly, a feather and my own tag yahoo! bambi is from an old deck of cards! I really love taking photos of my shoes, the next one is also my shoes, with lovely paper from october afternoon! I also used thickers and cassette rub-on from american crafts.
converse is the-best-shoes, I love them, I can never get enough!! these pair has ladybugs on them!

this last lay-out is from the grand prix comp, challenge was: use (at least) 1 stamp, 2 ribbons, 3 pics, 4 papers, 5 words, 6 brads ha ha ha ha, I finally managed:p

I wanted this lay-out to be a little different, I wanted it to have lot of quiet space, but still be terribly interesting lol

journaling says, I love only you*

I've had a great day today, went downtown, on Grünerløkka there was market days, will show photos later, and I met so many sweet people, and was very inspired! will share, I promise.

now it's raining a little bit, but that's ok, sweet summer rain. will work on a new painting and a new font, will maybe bleach my hair and dye it pink...and will make pizza, before I'm off to see my boyfriend! yesterday, we had a great day with one of our best friends, his wife and son was away, so it was only the three of us, eating ice cream, strawberries, cookies, chocolate...and having a barbecue in the hot sun wow wow it was so lovely!! I wish you all will have the greatest weekend as well!!**
